This conversation took place between the help desk and a remote user who could not get the local print server to work. The help desk asked the user if only he used the printer, and when the user confirmed this, he attempted to help the user connect the printer direct to the computer. Help Desk: You need to unplug the printer lead from the box and connect it to the back of your PC. User: Is it a black lead? Help Desk: No. It is probably a grey lead. User: Are you watching me? Help Desk: No. It's just that most printer leads are grey. The user then spent 5 minutes trying to plug the printer in to his PC User: I can't find where the printer plugs in. My computer doesn't have any ports in the back. Help Desk: What kind of computer do you have? User: A Syncmaster Help Desk: No. That's your monitor. The rest of your computer is a box under the desk. User: Oh. Are you sure you can't see me? I didn't even know that was there. The next day, two other users in the same office complained they couldn't print any more...................
